Life Is Life (Život je život) is a comedy about František (Ondřej Vetchý), a grumpy, strict head of the family who would like to see his three daughters with capable, successful men. Instead, all three have a gift for finding the exact opposite. The eldest has had to move back in with her parents, unsuccessful husband in tow, and is still trying for a baby. The middle one attracts oddballs and misfits like a magnet. And the youngest is, if anything, too successful in love: she is sixteen, pregnant and does not know who the father is. On top of that, the couple’s one fixed point, their summer holiday, is starting to crumble. Every year they go to Lake Mácha, but his wife Jana (Simona Stašová) has begun to dream of the sea. Then a bohemian writer with mildly suicidal tendencies appears in her life, and an attractive colleague with Spanish roots in František’s, and things start to happen. All the little stories add up to one big, funny life full of situations everyone will recognise. Not everyone, though, also leads a second, far more adventurous life as a fearless secret agent.
